Campaña Mundial de concientización sobre hepatitis virales – 19 de mayo de 2008
Asociaciones y grupos de pacientes de todo el mundo, unimos esfuerzos para luchar contra las hepatitis virales.
Todos los 19 de mayo, día internacional de concientización de las hepatitis, diferentes asociaciones en el mundo intensificamos nuestro trabajo diario con acciones y campañas públicas. Este próximo 19 de mayo de 2008, y con el nacimiento de la World Hepatitis Alliance, organización promovida y presidida por Charles Gore, perteneciente a la asociación Hepatitis C trust de Inglaterra, realizaremos la primer gran campaña mundial de concientización de las hepatitis virales.Estaremos participando más de 200 Asociaciones de los 5 continentes, realizando acciones simultáneas de información y prevención.
La Fundación HCV Sin Fronteras ha sido elegida como representante de la WHA en Argentina. HCV Sin Fronteras, realizará, coordinará y/o brindará el apoyo posible para las actividades que se realicen en todo el país, con Asociaciones, Sociedades médicas, fundaciones,Hospitales, grupos, etc. que ya están participando y toda entidad que desee sumarse en esta gran campaña de concientización mundial sobre hepatitis virales.
Las asociaciones que deseen participar pueden hacerlo, escribiendo a [email protected] , manifestando su adhesión a la campaña mundial y enviando la actividad que desean realizar en su ciudad.
Trabajando juntos contra las hepatitis
En el mundo hay cientos de asociaciones que trabajamos desde hace años brindando información, prevención y orientación a las personas con hepatitis virales crónicas. Así como trabajamos en campañas de prevención e información en la vía pública, para evitar que estas enfermedades crónicas continúen propagándose por el mundo, aumentando cada vez más las alarmantes listas de espera para trasplantes hepáticos. Algunas autoridades de salud de diferentes países son concientes de la gravedad mundial que implican la propagación de las hepatitis virales en la población, e implementan programas y acciones en colaboración con sociedades médicas y asociaciones de pacientes. Lamentablemente esto solo ocurre en muy pocos países del mundo, con graves consecuencias para la salud de la población mundial.
Si bien cada asociación de pacientes ha logrado avances de concientización y prevención en el país o región que trabaja, realizando acciones locales, nacionales e internacionales, estos esfuerzos no son suficientes y actualmente se considera que en el mundo hay 550 millones de personas con hepatitis B y hepatitis C, cifra que aumentará,según expertos hepatólogos de todo el mundo, en forma alarmante en los próximos años.
Sabemos que trabajando juntos alcanzaremos importantes logros en la lucha contra las hepatitis virales.Todas las asociaciones ya han sido invitadas a participar en la campaña mundial; quienes aún no lo han hecho recuerden enviar un e-mail a [email protected] con sus datos y actividad propuesta a la mayor brevedad.
Todos estos países hasta el momento forman la WHA: Argelia, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bélgica, Bosnia Herzegovina, Brasil, Bulgaria, Canadá, China, Croacia, Egipto, Francia, Alemania, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Italia, Corea, Libia, Malasia, Malí, Marruecos,México, Países Bajos, Nueva Zelanda, Filipinas, Polonia, Portugal, Rumania, Rusia, Singapur, España, Suecia, Suiza, Taiwán, Túnez, el Reino Unido, EE.UU, Vietnam, Venezuela y el más recientemente Bangladesh.
Cada país sumará muchas actividades en sus ciudades y regiones y entre todos lograremos una gran campaña en el Día mundial de las Hepatitis

19th May 2008 – World raise public awareness about viral hepatitis
Associations and groups over the world will unify to fight against viral hepatitis.
All 19th May, international raise public awareness of the hepatitis. Some associations in the world intensify over daily work with actions and public campaigns. The next 19th of May and together with the World Hepatitis Alliance birth (organization promoted by its chairman Charles Gore, belonging to the Hepatitis C Trust from England) we will do the first big world raise public awareness of the viral hepatitis. We will be participating more than 200 Associations of the 5 continents, making simultaneous actions of information and prevention.
Fundación HCV Sin Fronteras has been elected as the Argentinean representative of WHA and collaborator entity for the Latin American delegation. HCV Sin Fronteras will make, coordinate and give support for the activities will do in all the country, together with Associations, Medical Societies, hospitals, Foundations, groups, etc. All these people are already participating and all entity would like to add to this big world campaign of viral hepatitis it will be very welcomed.
The associations that would like to participate can do it writing to [email protected] declaring their adhesion to the world campaign sending the activity you want to do in your city.
Working together against the hepatitis
In the World exists hundred of associations working since many years ago giving information, prevention and orientation to the people with chronic viral hepatitis. We are working in prevention campaigns and information in the public highway in order to avoid the propagation of these illnesses in the world, increasing each time more the long hepatic transplants lists. Some healthy authorities from different countries are conscious about the world seriousness which involve the viral hepatitis propagation in the population and implement programs and actions in collaboration with medical societies and patients. This sadly situation is only applicable in few countries of the world with serious consequences for the worldwide population health.
Each patient association has achieved quite important advances in the awareness and prevention in its country or region where they are working (making local, national and international actions, these efforts are not enough. Actually is considering it exists in the world 550 million people with hepatitis B or C. This number will increase during the next year as liver experts over the world say.
Working all together we know that we will achieve important success in the fight against viral hepatitis. All the associations have been invited to participate in the world campaign if some of you have not done it, please send as soon as possible a mail to [email protected] with your information details and the proposed activity.

Each country will add a lot of activities en their cities and regions. All together we will achieve a big campaign in the Hepatitis world Day! Lets go on!… Lets go addend!… We wait you!
